Make a salt water tank for cheap

A medium sized Marine tank (a common size) will cost easily $1000 - $2000 or more. Do you want a beautiful and colorful marine aquarium.

Tank:Save money on a tank by getting one off Craigslist.
Salt: I found a salt solution that would treat a ten gallon tank once for $9. It would treat a tank 16 times of the same size for $60. This is a better deal at $3.75.
Fish: A few of certain Cromis, Damsels, Dottybacks, Blennies or Gobies can be bought for under ten dollars each and are beautiful. Some Clownfish, Triggers, Wrasses, or Sweetlips can be bought for under $15 - $20.
Other animals: Marine hermit crabs are very pretty, and they range from under $1 to $5. Some sea stars can cost only about $10. A marine snail should run for $1 - $3.
Coral and Anemones: Corals are usually expensive, even for small ones. I've seen some anemones for about $8. Get some fake coral. It is far cheaper and can look extremely realistic.

Heating and filtering need not be expensive for small, simple setup like this.

You can have a beautiful marine aquarium for reletive low cost.
