This is not true! It is a lie spread by dog food manufactures. The truth is, most foods humans eat are safe for dogs, and may even be healthier than commercial dog food.
If your feed a cheap, lower quality dog food, then to keep your dog healthy, you should also feed meat and vegetables to your dog.
Some people feed their dogs only "homemade dog food", while others feed some table scraps and some commercial dog food.
Some foods that dogs can eat: carrots, lettuce, zucchini, cheese, yogurt, eggs, apples, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pumpkin, yams, pears, oranges, pineapple, broccoli, celery, rice, green beans, potato, and barley. Also you can feed unseasoned meat to your dog.
The lower quality of the dog food you feed, the more of these foods you need to feed your dog.
Feeding your dog a good diet will keep it healthy, like this Rough Collie. |
