Mom's Birthday Cake
I do things other than taking care of pets: baking a cake is one of those things, (not that I can do it well)!
For my mom's birthday, as well as, A Home for Bandit, I decided to make my mom a cake. I had envisioned a beautiful chocolate cake with fondant, m&ms, and boiled frosting.
But the cake was crumbly, the sugar in the boiled frosting was burnt, and the fondant kept sticking and tearing. I was very upset when I began to frost the cake. It looked TERRIBLE!
But my brother decided that the cake could be saved. He helped me as I decorated it with some fondant that I had finally been able to use. I added some m&ms and eventually it looked like this:
